What you're bidding on: You are bidding on a USED Cowon iaudio 80gb X5 mp3 video media player that has a 30gb X5L back cover on it. What does this mean? Well, if you flip the player over and look at the back cover, it says 30gb X5L on it. That's it. As stated in the subtitle, a free battery upgrade (installed) will also come with the player if the buy it now option is used OR if the buy it now price is reached. The battery that's currently in the player lasts around eight or so hours so the extra 8-9hrs that you'll gain with the upgrade are definitely worth the extra amount (imo) - especially with the 80gb hard drive that's now in the player.  If you've seen my auctions before, you also know that I normally charge $40 plus shipping for this (battery) service so you are getting a GREAT deal. With the NEW hard drive and the NEW battery, this player should last you for years if you take care of it! Also, although there's no manufacturer's warranty available, there is an OPTIONAL square trade warranty available that will cover the purchase price of this player should anything ever happen to it. Note. If the buy it now option is also used, I will give the buyer the option of buying a very hard to find docking/charging cradle for the player for an additional $25 with no extra shipping. If you elect to purchase the dock though, do NOT pay for the player without requesting an invoice. After the auction ends, simply let me know that you want the optional cradle and I will send you an invoice with the extra $25 added to the total. IMPORTANT: Due to the 80gb hard drive upgrade, you will probably want to install the rockbox firmware on this player (check out the forum section on www.rockbox.org and http://iaudiophile.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40 for great discussions on it). The reason is because Cowon has set a 10,000 file limit on the player when you use the original firmware. Now, you can store more then 10,000 files on the player but it will only "see" 10,000 of them. Although 10,000 files seems like a lot, you may run out of space with the extra 20gb's that are on this player. There are also MANY more advantages to using rockbox over the original firmware. Two that come immediately to mind is gapless playback and better battery life - I can almost guarantee that you'll get over 20 hours with the (optional) extended battery. That is the actual player that you'll receive.  As for the mechanical condition, everything works great. Also, to avoid confusion, 1,000mb = 1gb Player comes with the subpack, ac adapter/charger, usb cable, and a copy of the software cd that contains the jetshell program and a full copy of the owner's manual in 13 different languages. One of the things that it won't come with is a pair of earphones. I never include used earphones with my players. Unlike headphones, earphones go INSIDE your ears so you really don't want to be using used ones. Now, when you do purchase earphones (or headphones) for it, make sure that they are the kind with the 90 degree bend at the jack. Unlike many other players, the X5's headphone input is located on the side. Do to this, you want to put as little stress as possible on the input. Those with a 90 degree bend will help you achieve that. The fact that the 90 degree jack tends to protude very little also helps.   Guaranteed to arrive as described!
