Description
Up for sale is a great condition press. One month ago, it was completely disassembled, professionally reconditioned and repainted. It was the last press to move to our new location, so we took care of the reconditioning since it was moving anyway. Since then, it has been tested and tuned, and is one of our (4) 40" production machines. We are not in a position that we are filling our other 3 presses 24 hours a day yet, and would like to free up some resources for other equipment purchases. This is a great press, at a great price. One of the biggest highlights of this press is the fully-automatic plate-hanging components which we have converted to a semi-automatic system (faster in production). We have had other presses with fully automatic plate hanger system fully functional and decided that using them in semi-automatic mode works better in production. For this reason, we did not invest to get the fully automatic working. It takes approximately 2 minutes per plate (reliably) in production using the semi-automatic method. In conversation, with other printers, with similar presses from those years, they do the same thing even with the full system working. Our typical makeready time from hanging plates, to color, to register is approximately 15-20 minutes. If you are interested, we would be more than happy to demonstrate this with a live production job. Komori presses without the components for fully-automatic plate hanging, use a different bolt system and generally require (in our experience) about 45 minutes to 1 hour, to makeready. Please understand that all fees for the transaction (ie through ebay, money transfers, applicable taxes etc.) will be in addition to the cost of the press. Also, removal, transport etc will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions. Here are some of the specifications for the press: 1991 Komori Lithrone L640 40" 6 Color Press with inline Aqueous Coater serial number: #420 RECENTLY COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED, PROFESSIONALLY RECONDITIONED AND REPAINTED.
